Polished & Stained Concrete

Definition of polished Concrete: 3 types

  • 1. Full Polished concrete is concrete that has been processed through a series of mechanically ground "polishing/grinding" steps similar to the production of terrazzo. This process also includes the use of a penetrant chemical known as a hardener. Most durable and longest lasting.
  • 2. Topical polished concrete is the application of a liquid applied coating to a concrete floor surface to achieve a glossy finish. Durable but may require more maintenance based on traffic.
  • 3. Burnished polished concrete is defined as the friction rubbing of a concrete floor surface with abrasive pads until the desired level of glossy finish is achieved. Maintenance process for full polished floors, can also be used as a finished product that requires periodic maintenance.
